Piacere Mio Uptown

“Piacere Mio” means my pleasure — in Uptown, that's not just our name. It's the whole point.

02 Our Story

From Forest Park
To Uptown.

Chef Jose Marquez started in this kitchen the way a lot of great chefs do — at the bottom. In 1997 he came on as a dishwasher, and over the better part of three decades he worked his way through every station, learning the food from the inside before he ever ran a line. That path is still in the cooking: nothing on the menu is complicated for its own sake.

Piacere Mio started in Forest Park, where owners Antonio de la Rosa and Francisco Perez built the kind of neighborhood trattoria people plan their week around. Uptown is the second location — the same Sicilian-inspired, house-made approach, brought to a new block and a new set of regulars.

The name is the whole philosophy. Piacere mio is what you say in Italian when someone thanks you — literally, “my pleasure.” That's not a slogan here. It's the answer the family wants every table to get, every night.

05 Questions

Good To
Know.

Do you take reservations?
Yes — we take reservations through OpenTable. For same-day requests, calling the restaurant directly is usually fastest.
Do you have gluten-free options?
Yes. We're known in the neighborhood for our house-made gluten-free pasta and for taking gluten sensitivities seriously — often one of the owners will come by your table personally to talk through the menu with you.
What makes Piacere Mio different?
We're family-owned and Sicilian-inspired, with Chef Jose Marquez bringing 25+ years in the kitchen — started as a dishwasher in 1997 — to a menu of house-made pasta and regional Italian country food. And there's Wine Monday: 50% off any bottle, every week.
Is there parking?
Street parking along Wilson Avenue is your best bet, and the Red Line's Wilson stop is an easy walk if you're coming by train.
